Larger humanoid settlement has remained difficult here for such a long time because the nature of the continent Vaimoa is on. It seems the veil between other planes is thin here, pieces of the Feywild, and Elemental planes express themselves in the landscape. Orange-y red and yellow streaked sandstone make up most of the geology, so the cites are carved from it. Large trees and jungle vines grow out of cracked sandstone. Some trees are used as supports for wooden buildings as aaracrokra prefer sleeping higher above the ground. Vaimoa, also being on the cusp of Lore Ocean, and relative lack of governance of outer-lying towns, makes it a hub for pirates. ~♢~
